Ask Jeeves ( http://www.askjeeves.com ) is hot. And they got hot without putting customized news and weather on their front page or turning themselves into a portal. In fact, they're going out and doing wacky things like advertising on apples and putting their butler/logo in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.
