New LOC Announcement

LOC the halls with new collections, fa-la-la-la-la, la-la -oh, forget it. Anyway, the LOC has announced "Meeting of Frontiers" at http://frontiers.loc.gov/intldl/mtfhtml/mfsplash.html (the site is available in English and Russian, and there's a gateway to both languages from this page.) Meeting of Frontiers explores the experiences of the US and Russia in exploring, developing, and settling the frontiers in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. The collection contains more than 2,500 items with 70,000 images. Included are photographs from Alaska in the 1910s, photographs from 1880s frontier life in Colorado, and selections from the Alaska Russian Church Archives.
