Annotate web pages
Annotate.net, last mentioned in the 12/6/99 ResearchBuzz, has announced that their Annotate.net software has left beta and is now available in version 1.0 for free at http://www.annotate.net/ . When you open your browser the Annotate software opens up too. When you load a page the Annotate software checks to see if there are any "annotations" about it. If there are annotations, you have the option of viewing them in a separate window. Not just anyone can annotate a page -- they must be a member of the Annotate.net network, which includes RollingStone, Epinions, and CNET. Last time I mentioned this software it only worked with IE 4.0 and 5.0, but beta versions of Netscape Navigator support are now available.
