Big news from AltaVista

AltaVista has made two pretty big announcements today. First announcement is that they're opening up their source code. Second announcement is that they're starting an affiliate program -- you'll be able to make 3 cents for every click-through to their page. Opening the source code is a nice idea, but hands-up everybody who thinks they could make their site a lot more popular just by clearing a lot of the stuff off the front page and making it a bit more navigable.
