Britannica Offers Oscars Information
Britannica.com has launched a site devoted to the Oscars. The site pops up in a window with a less-annoying-than-usual Flash introduction (which can be skipped.) The left side of the screen is a Flash navigation tool which divides the content of the site into decades, and from there into individual years. Clicking on a year gives you thumbnail information on major awards (best picture, best actor, etc.) and a pointer to a listing of other winners. Clicking on one of the awards thumbnails leads you to a still shot of the winner, biographical information, notes on other nominees, and many times notes on the film itself. A perfect site for reference librarians who might get pestered with Oscar questions this time of year. Access the site at http://www.britannica.com/oscars/
