April 14, 2000Search Engine for Music/Radio LaunchesI've seen MP3 search engines by the metric ton, but not anything quite like this new radio/music search engine at http://newradiostar.com/starsearch.htm .. This engine is designed for radio and music Web sites, with a current claimed index of 70,000 sites. It works well for artist names ("Professor Longhair" got 50 matches in 19 listings), song titles ("Luka" found ten matches in ten listings, and the second result was the Suzanne Vega site), musical instruments ("euphonium" got 24 matches in 15 listings), and genres ("speed metal" found 87 matches in 32 listings.) The only trouble with this engine is 70,000 pages is waaaaay too small for a search engine this broad; if they expand it this could be a fun tool. Posted to Entertainment
