April 09, 2000SSA Provides Retirement CalculatorsAmericans, if you're wondering how much you'll be pulling from the Social Security Administration when you retire, check out the benefit calculators at http://www.ssa.gov/retire/ . The first one is real simple; enter the age you'll be by the end of this year and how much you're making this year. You can choose to see your estimated benefits in either today's dollars or inflated dollars. The second calculator allows you to enter numbers from your SSA benefits statement and calculate your future benefits using a Java applet. If you don't have Java enabled on your browser you'll get a page of instructions with no calculator. The third calculator you'll have to download onto your computer, but it lets you calculate death benefits, enter your estimated earnings every year until your retire and figure out what your benefits will be, etc. Unfortunately I couldn't find the system requirements for the downloadable calculator.
