Google Launches WAP-Compatible Version Of Its Search Engine
Google ( http://www.google.com ) has launched a WAP-optimized version of its search engine for those using the Internet through wireless phones and handheld devices like Palm Pilots. Unlike other WAP search engines, Google's converts HTML pages to WML pages on the fly, so WAP users still have access to 500 million pages worth of Web. It's still in beta, but you can take a look at it now by typing "Google" into a WAP microbrowser. You can also look at it by going to http://www.google.com/palm (this works for regular browsers too.) You only get five results at a time, however, maybe perfect for a wireless user but tedious if you're on a regular browser
