July 12, 2000Pandia Creates Radio/TV Search EnginePandia has an online radio/tv station directory at http://www.pandia.com/radio/. It's a little hard to understand the page layout at first, but there's a lot of useful information here. On the left side of the page is a frame that gives a list of countries. At the top of that frame is a little gizmo that says "Category/Location". If you click on the word "Category" you'll get a different list, this time with different genres of online programming. The right side of the screen is where you get the detailed listings. For example, if you've clicked on category click on Oldies. The right side of the screen will refresh, giving you a list of oldies stations, with name, location, whether it is live or recorded, and blinking green light indicating at what speed at with what software the station runs. (And a link to the streaming programming itself, of course.) The right frame doesn't list all the stations at a time, so watch for that "next" button at the bottom of the frame. The category listing could use more work (there are 237 listings in the miscellaneous category!) and there's a little too much blinking going on for my taste. However, it's a good directory with plenty of information divided into useful categories. Posted to Entertainment-Television
