Family-Friendly Animal Search Engine

AnimalSearch ( http://www.animalsearch.net/ ) promotes itself as an animal-friendly search engine. You have a couple of choices when first browsing this site. There's a keyword search at the top of the page, or a page of links that includes animal type, animal group, animal topics, or geographic resources. Once you pick an animal type (I chose dogs) you get another directory page, including publications, dog breeds (I am no expert, but the breed list doesn't look anywhere near complete), care, etc. Clicking again (I chose sheepdogs) takes you to a short list of fairly-well annotated links. Sometimes the links are a little hard to read -- they're red, and in a bold sans serif font -- but the page loads quickly and the distracting graphics are way over on the side of the page (AnimalSearch offers screen wallpaper for download.) Worth a look.
