January 01, 2001National Archeological Database ReportsThe database of national archeological reports ( http://web.cast. uark.edu/other/nps/nadb/nadb.mul.html ) is a bibliographic inventory of about 240,000 reports on archeological investigation and planning. This one is thick and rather out of my league, so patience please. On the front page of the site, you can search by state name, county name, worktype, cultural, keyword, material, date, author, and title. (If some of these searches don't make any sense to you, don't fret -- they all have help links.) Doing a state search for Alabama combined with a cultural search for Cherokee found three results. (Doing a search for Alabama alone found over 5700 results!) Results include authors, article name, periodical -- it's a bibliography. Since it is a bibliography (as opposed to a full-text database) you'll need some help from your friendly librarian to access to articles themselves, but if you're interested in archeology, it's worth a look.
