Free Library of Philadelphia Creates Online Centennial Exhibition
The Free Library of Philadelphia has created an online exhibit of over 1,200 photographs and other materials related to the Centennial Exhibition of 1876 which took place in Philadelphia. The collection is available at http://libwww.library .phila.gov/CenCol/index.htm . In addition to photographs, this site includes a 17-year-old's diary of attending the celebration, a ready-to-print-and-assemble model of the celebration's Memorial Hall, and more. There's a search engine for all the material on the site. Search results for photographs provide thumbnails and basic information. Clicking on the thumbnail provides a larger photograph.
