February 20, 2001Guide to Engineering Sights Covers Almost 250 SitesThe National Society of Professional Engineers has launched A Sightseer's Guide to Engineering at http://www.engineeringsights.org . This site contains almost 250 engineering "sights to see" like the Hoover Dam, the Golden Gate Bridge, and -- um -- the Original American Kazoo Company. Anyway. The front page of the site has a clickable image map of the US. You can also search by keyword, search by category, or choose an engineering discipline. Each item in the site guide has its own page. The page contains contact and location information for the site, hours and cost, engineering information for the site, and a "fun fact." There's also a "slide show" of images on the left side of the page, but it didn't work in Opera. (It worked fine in Mozilla.) Not all sites have images, but many of the ones I looked at did. This site is nicely designed and chock-full of information. A fun read and worth a look. Posted to Science-Engineering | TrackBack
