February 28, 2001Pack Up, Go To Camp (Camp Search Engine)CampChannel ( http://campchannel.com/ ) has announced a redesign this week. The site, among other things, allows you to search for a camp in a variety of ways. The camp search is at http://campchannel.com/campers/ . You have three options: camp search, browse, or name search. The search page is a huge field of textboxes you get to wander through. Among the many options you get to specify are type of camp, programming emphasis, special needs, and region. Results are given in a list with name and brief description of the camp (unfortunately, some of them read like they just came off the back of the brochure.) A few results I saw linked to a camp Web site. There are also "More Info" buttons with each result. The "More Info" button gives a table of additional information including program, average price, and session length. The browse function provides a different kind of functionality than the search function. With it, you can browse by a few different factors, including state (or Canadian province) and type of camp (specialty or travel). There's plenty to see here if you haven't decided what you're going to do next summer. Worth a look. Posted to World-Travel-US | TrackBack
