April 09, 2001NEC Unveils ResearchIndex Library of Computer Science ArticlesThe NEC Research Institute has launched the ResearchIndex (<”a href= ”http://www.researchindex.org/“> http://www.researchindex.org/), its free research library of 300,000+ computer science articles. The search box is straightforward with one exception: two words next to each other are treated as a phrase, even if you're not using quotes. Thus the query: artificial stupidity will search for the phrase "artificial stupidity." If you want to search for both these terms, search for artificial AND stupidity. If you want to search for either, search for artificial OR stupidity. Also note that there are two search buttons: one is for searching just document citations, and one is for searching entire documents. Filling in the query box and pressing enter will search the citations. You may also browse the articles through a searchable subject index that provides a number of topics (from Agents to World Wide Web) and sub-topics (from architecture to search engines) There's also a list of the most-accessed articles and the most cited documents, citations, and authors.
