The Film Box Office Database

The Film Box Office Database ( http://www.boxofficeguru.com/film.htm) won't win any beauty contests, but it is chock-full of box-office stats from over 2,000 films between 1989 and now. It's not up-to-the-minute (the front page says it was last updated in December) It already contains enough information to provide lots of browsing fun.

The site is not searchable. Instead, movies are alphabetized by title. I thought this would lead to huge, slow-loading pages, but the lists are broken up over several pages.

Information is provided in columns, and includes film name, opening and closing dates, total gross, opening gross (that's the opening weekend), number of theaters in which it opened and the largest number of theaters it played in, 1st week percentage (the percentage of total gross that was taken in during the first week of release), per theater (the average $ intake per theater) and the distributor.

The title of the film is a different font color but they weren't clickable. The titles are a little hard to read (it's a pale magenta color on a yellowish background) but the rest of it was okay. I've love to see this database made searchable.
