September 11, 2001This Isn't Brain Surgery -- Oh, Sorry, It IsNeurosurgeon.com http://www.neurosurgeon.com/ provides links to several areas of interest to Neurosurgeons. Instead of a searchable subject index where the categories are listed in the middle of the page, these are listed on the left. Click an item ( Conditions is the first one) and the right frame of the page will load with a list of topics. Choose a topic and you'll get information about the condition you picked, and several links to relevant sources. The links chosen are sometimes represented with graphic banners, which I don't care for; I think text links are sufficient. But they're not so overwhelming that I wanted to leave the page. Topics covered include tumors, traumatic brain injury, and pain. There are also sections on X-rays and neuroradiology, a database of neurosurgeons worldwide that includes name, address, phone, and e-mail (this database does not appear to be complete), links to a few neurosurgery dictionaries, and NeuroLinks, which provides general links relevant to neurosurgery (in the categories neurosurgery indexes, anatomy links, medical illustrators, and fun sites (!!) This site could be filled in a bit more, but it's an interesting start. Worth a look. Posted to Science-Medicine
