October 08, 2001LOC Releases Woody Guthrie Manuscript CollectionThe Library of Congress has made the Woody Guthrie Manuscript Collection available at http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wwghtml/ This is not the biggest LOC collection in the world, but there's enough here. Eighty-four pages of manuscript materials related to Woody Guthrie cover 1940 to 1950. Manuscripts include letters, memos, and a couple of statements of permissions. People involved include Guthrie, Duncan Emrich, and Alan Lomax. Images of the original materials as well as transcripts are available. In addition to the manuscript there's also a timeline of Woody Guthrie's life and an essay about his life and times. Posted to Humanities-Manuscripts-Archives
