November 07, 2001Lung Cancer Survivor Makes Online ResourceLibrarian Karen Parles was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1998, and in the process of researching the disease decided to create her own online resource for researching lung cancer. It's now available at . The site is divided into several sections, including Finding the Best Care, Lung Cancer Information, Complications of Lung Cancer & Treatment Side Effects, and Researching the Medical Literature. Sections are further divided into subcategories which are all grouped into one page. If you're just looking for an overview keep an eye out for the "Editor's Choice Websites" link at the bottom of the page. Annotations are excellent, providing both the source of information, a description, and the date of addition. There are occasionally "links within links" as Karen points to pages of particular interest within a site. I have only two suggestions for this site. The first concerns the front page, which I think would be easier to read if it were left-justified instead of centered. The second is that this site is so packed with useful information that it could really use a search engine. Well done. Worth a look. Posted to Science-Medicine-Specific Diseases
