UVA Library to Create American Studies E-Community
The University of Virginia Library has received a $300,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation to develop an American Studies "information community." The research project will provide an electronic resource for anyone interested in the history, literature and culture background of American Studies and will consist of maps, audio and video sources as well as textbooks. It will provide a scholarly setting for the exchange of ideas and demonstrate how an information community integrates data from publicly available sources into a digital collection.
