December 04, 2001Zoo Subject IndexZooWeb ( http://www.zooweb.com/) promotes itself as "Your World Wide Link to Zoos & Aquariums" and it does offer a lot of material. Their subject index, the ZooGuide, is partially on the left side of the page. Subjects include top sites, zoo cams, zoo groups ("Elephant Management and Owners Association") and zoo games. These pages aren't overloaded with links -- the best lists are across the top of the page. The "Zoos" list contains over 225 links to zoos all over the world, the "Aquariums" list just over 30. There are also categories for conservation and education. While I like the scope of material on the site (the annotation is good and the resources are unusual) I wish all the link categories are together -- it's difficult to find things if you're just poking around. It's not obvious, but there is a directory for the links at http://www.zooweb.com/links/dir.asp, which includes several additional categories you can't find on the front page. In addition to links, this site also has forums, e-cards, and e-mail accounts. Worth a look. Posted to Science-Zoology
