January 31, 2002All Alchemy, All the TimeWant to learn about alchemy? Don't miss http://www.levity.com/alchemy/home.html. This site provides loads of material on alchemy in several sections, including images, texts, and an art gallery. I'm going to hit the highlights because if I tried to get to everything we'd be here all day. http://www.levity.com/alchemy/emblems.html has a database of over 500 alchemical images, including engravings and woodcuts from several different books. Don't forget to check out http://www.levity.com/alch emy/images_s.html, which links to other alchemical images. The reference library of alchemical texts (http://www.levity.com/alchemy /texts.html) divides texts by timeframe (16th century and earlier, 17th century, and 18th century and later.) The texts are not individually searchable, but the ones I saw were put on one page so they're searchable via your browser's find function. The information about alchemical books and manuscripts page (http://www.levity.com/alche my/bibliog.html) contains a database of alchemical books published before 1800, a database of alchemical manuscripts from libraries, lists of authors of alchemical books, etc. Finally there's a gallery of colored alchemical images at http://www.levity.com/alch emy/amcldraw.html. I have only scratched the surface; there's a ton of information here. Well done. Posted to Science-Alchemy | TrackBack
