Directory of Irish Genealogy

Those of you with ancestors from the Emerald Isle will appreciate the directory of Irish genealogy at http://homepage.tinet.ie/~seanjmurphy/dir/index.htm . This directory has been around since 1990 -- it was published in hardcopy starting in 1990, with Internet publishing starting in 1998.

There are several categories available here. The Beginner's Guide provides an introduction to Irish genealogy research with pointers to reference and general sources (marriage records, birth and death records, censuses, etc.) a link list with Irish and worldwide genealogy resources, and a very brief register of Irish immigrants (though visitors are invited to submit their own entries.)

The articles section is unfortunately sparse, but the reviews section offers a couple of exhaustive reviews of Irish genealogical resources. This isn't the largest genealogy resource I've ever looked at, but for beginners who have ancestors in Ireland and don't know where to start, it's a must-see.
