100 Years Of Popular Mechanics Covers

Take it from me, mechanical aptitude is not required to enjoy Popular Mechanics. It's one of my favorite airport magazines. The eye-catching covers of Popular Mechanics have been gathered into one gallery at http://popularmechanics.com/albums/index.phtml , with over 1200 magazine covers from 1902 to the present.

This page is super plain. It's a list of years. Pick a year and you'll get a gallery of cover thumbnails, 12 to a page (the first couple years of PM published more than monthly, so those years' worth of covers are across multiple pages.) Click on a thumbnail and get a larger version of the cover. Some of the earlier covers are too small to be read, a shame, but the later ones can be read fine. (Check out November 1975. Trick out your VW Rabbit *and* build an air hockey table! It's 1975! Whee!)

You could spend a lot of time wandering around in this gallery but it only makes me hungry for more. I would love to see an archive of these earlier articles. Still, worth a look.
