April 01, 2002Ohio Launches Online Scrapbook of HistoryOhio Memory has been launched at http://www.ohiomemory.org/ . This site contains documents and other materials from over 100 academic centers, local historical groups, and libraries, and is administered by the Ohio Historical Society. There are two ways to view the site. First way is to search by keyword. You can search titles, authors, date, place, and resource type. You can also browse by subject category -- categories include Ohio Government, Ohio Women, Ohio's Culture, and Ohio's Environment. Choose a category and you'll get an essay about that aspect of Ohio's culture (not all categories were finished.) Check out the link on the left of the page, to view all items in a particular category. (WARNING: If your firewall is set to block page referrals, this link will not work.) items are presented nine to a page, with links leading to extended descriptions, printable images of the items, and a "Save to My Scrapbook" feature.
