May 29, 2002Gallery of Children's ArtPaPa iNk offers several galleries of children's art at http://www.papaink.org/gallery/home/index.html . What you see on the front page is a list of topics, which include for-profit sponsored, non-profit sponsored, historical art, etc. Click on a topic and you'll get another page with the subcategories on the left side. Subcategories for historical art include "'Witness to Genocide: The Children of Rwanda' Gallery," "Berlin Wall Graffiti Art Gallery," and "AFSC's WWI German Feeding Program Gallery." Click on a subtopic's picture and you'll get a gallery page. Gallery pages include thumbnails of pictures and picture titles. Click on the picture and you'll get a larger picture (but alas, not large enough to see the detail.) Some of the pictures I looked had dates; some didn't. Some pictures are also larger than other; Yen Chua's images were large enough to see and enjoy the detail, but the pictures from the WWI German Feeding Program were not. When I think children's art I think square houses with exactly four windows and seagulls shaped like wide ems. That is not the case with the art in these galleries. If you're interested in art they're worth a browse. Posted to Aesthetics-Art-Collections
