Yahoo Incorporates Premium Documents Into News Search

If you've used Yahoo's news search ( http://dailynews.yahoo.com ), you know that the premium documents appear in a box on the right side. Yahoo has also included them in the news search results themselves. The premium search results are denoted with a large green $ and the price of the article in red. At the bottom of the news search results, there's a premium search result list (with the big green $ icon and the price in red.)

If you don't like seeing the premium documents in the results, you can turn them off with a toggle on the right side of the screen. I don't mind the premium documents in the results -- it's nice to see when there are relevant articles available. What I don't like is that the advanced search doesn't seem to work properly.

I went to the advanced news search and chose a search, then specified 30 days' worth of searching with the results listed by date. Results weren't listed by date and premium articles were shown that were far more than 30 days old. I guess that the premium doc search hasn't been completely integrated yet.

Update: Apparently I was wrong -- this is an integration of New York Times articles. Sorry about that. CNET has a story about it at http://news.com.com/2100-1023-914513.html .
