Pubs With Free Archives On The -- NOT

Last week I did a newsbit called "Pubs with Free Archives On the Web." (At http://www.researchbuzz.com/news/2002/jun13jun1902.shtml#pubswith ). I was alerted last week that the page I linked to was actually a private page (for subscribers only) that was made publicly available by accident.

I regret the error. In the meantime, you might want to check out http://www.fso-online.com/ , which allows you to search over 17,000 "full-text newspapers, journals, magazines, newsletters, newswires, and transcripts." You're searching just for sources, not for the news itself. Searching is free (be sure your firewall and browser are set to show referrals, or it won't work.) but viewing the full record for each source requires a subscription. Unfortunately clicking the link for "Click Here to Subscribe" brings you to a page saying, "For information on how to subscribe, please contact Information Today, Inc." Yay.
