September 18, 2002Classical Music DirectoryAre you a classical musician or classical music enthusiast? Check out http://classicol.com/ , which in addition to a classical music link database contains a lot of other classical music-related information. I had to open this site with Internet Explorer since I couldn't get the navigation bar on the left to work with Opera. That navigation bar is pretty important since it offers a collapsible outline of links, with topics including musicians, ensembles, and educational. Use the + marks beside the topics to open and collapse the outline of links, then click on a topic to load the list of links on the right side of the page. Unfortunately none of the links I saw were annotated, but they were divided into country and region, making it easy to find a classical music festival in Switzerland, for example. If you're not interested in links check out the 137 classical radio stations sorted by country (and annotated), the illustrated guide to classical music instruments (I now know a lot more about crumhorns than I used to) and the classical music news section, apparently brought to you by Moreover. Worth a look. Posted to Aesthetics-Music-Specific
