October 22, 2002Amazing Childhood Nostalgia PageIt amazes me how much space popular culture gets on the Web, and it amazes me how the material can trigger a rush of nostalgia. I got nostalgic looking at ray guns from the 1930s, and I wasn't even around in the 1930s! If you enjoy browsing popular culture, check out http://theimaginaryworld. com/page4.html and its collections. There are several galleries here that are of possible interest. There's the kid's food gallery, which has several sub-galleries (characters made of what they advertise, lunch and dinner, several different cereal companies, etc.) There's a more general food gallery, again with several sub-galleries (bubble gum, crazy foam, dog food, fizzies, Libbyland Dinners, etc) There's fast food premiums from the 70s. There's even more. Describing all of it would take an hour. One thing I must note is that there is no discussion about the items, like there was for example in the ray gun gallery I covered within the last couple of weeks. There are just pictures, brief titles, and larger versions of pictures. Worth a browse; graphic artists who are stumped for ideas might also find it useful. Posted to Entertainment-Hobbies
