October 23, 2002Cooking With GoogleLast summer, Judy Hourihan came up with the idea of Google cooking ( http://judy.hour ihan.com/2002_09_01_archive.html ) -- entering a couple of ingredients into Google and seeing what recipes you got back. The only problem with doing this is that you tend to get a lot of false positive matches. But hey! It doesn't have to be that way with the Google cookin' program at http://www.buzz toolbox.com/google/goocookin.shtml . This program narrows down to recipe collections and uses the Google API to search them for specified ingredients. You can choose from general cooking, world cuisine, or ve*an (vegan/vegetarian). Try to limit your ingredients to two or three, though single ingredients will work as well. You'll get a few non-recipe results but not many -- try doing a general recipe search for "spam" and you'll see what I mean. MMmmm -- French Fry Spam Casserole! Posted to Search Engines-Google
