October 21, 2002Cooking With Recipe SketchesIf you're like me and I know I am, you don't have the patience to go through recipes. You might want to take a quick idea and come up with your own creation. Check out A MUSE for Cooks at http://cooksmuse.com/ . This site doesn't offer recipes but rather about 1500 quick "sketches" of food that you can use as a jumping-off point for your own culinary inspirations. What exactly do I mean? Well, pick one of the categories on the page: breads, salads, sauces, soups, curries, etc. You'll get an alphabetical list of suggestions and ideas from the very simple ("Broil whole mushroom caps stuffed with sliced olives. Serve hot.") to the more elaborate (a recipe for Broccoli Blue Cheese Sandwich With Beets.) Lots to explore here; I want to try the oven-roasted okra. Posted to Culture-Cooking
