Pricegrabbin' for Candidates Before Election Day

Pricegrabber.com, which is better known for retail shopping comparisons, is now offering comparisons of candidates in advance of election day. Visit http://www.priceg rabber.com/election_attrib.php and you'll see what I mean.

You'll get a list of the first group of candidates with pointers to the other ones, in a table that shows a small picture of the candidate, office, state, party, and amount spent on the campaign. If you're more interested in searching than browsing, you can browse the candidates by office, party (Republican, Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, Green Party, and Reform Party), gender, age, and their stance on several different issues, including the death penalty and gun control.

When you find a candidate you want to get more information on, click on their name and you'll get additional information, including background, position on issues (including invasion of Iraq) and a bio. If you want to compare several candidates click the checkboxes next to their names and click on the compare button at the top or bottom of the candidate listings.

While I liked the layout of this site, and the many ways you could get candidate listings, I didn't like the fact that so many bits of information were missing. Too many times, as I was browsing, candidate's views were listed as "unknown." Not all candidates were listed, either -- candidates who were not Democrats or Republicans didn't always get listings. For example, Stan Jones (the blue Libertarian candidate from Montana -- and I don't mean that disrespectfully; he turned blue from drinking colloidal silver) is not listed.
