October 29, 2002Star Wars Collectors Unite... And head over to http://www.toysrgus.com/ , where you will find insane numbers of data collections based on Star Wars toys. (If you liked the ray guns site you'll really dig this.) There are about eight million sections to this site, but the data collections (photo galleries) are divided into toys, coins, prototypes, store displays, info and reference, and movie memorabilia. Each section has several subsections, with photos and commentary about extensive listings. Sections here include authentic movie props, bootleg toys, fake toys, retail displays, production prototypes -- the level of detail in this collection of Star Wars material is pretty amazing. (And do not miss the "The Comprehensive Star Wars Cereal Box Checklist." I boggled.) In addition to the galleries, there's a link list of collector's sites, a news page, and a live chat area (there apparently used to be forums, but they're closed.) Amazing.
