October 08, 2002The Juggling DatabaseThe Juggling Database, at http://www.jugglingdb.com/ , contains tons of information on the art and sport of juggling. Possibly the most unusual part of this site is the video database. Over 550 videos related to juggling are here, most of them hosted on other sites but with thorough descriptions (and even ratings) available on this site. Videos are divided by category, including balls, clubs, rings, routines, dangerous props, etc. There's also a list of all videos if you want to browse. Videos come in a variety of formats; there doesn't seem to be a standard. There's also a subject index for links. This doesn't appear to be quite as extensive as the video database, but there are still several categories including tutorials, resources, performers, and discussion forums. If you don't like to juggle alone there's a database of over 250 juggling clubs worldwide. You can view them by country or you can use a Java applet to get club listings. Listing information includes location, meeting time, and contact information. There's also an icon that specifies how recently the listing was verified. In addition to the juggling collections mentioned above, there are several other items of interest on this site. There are several articles about juggling, a beginner's guide, juggling FAQ, and an events listing. Fun; check it out. Posted to Entertainment-Hobbies
