Weaving Documents and Bibliographies

If you're interested in weaving, you must check out http://www.cs.arizona.edu/patterns/weaving/ . This site, while not a searchable database per se, contains twenty tons of information on weaving. I mean, geez.

Okay. The bulk of the site is available in two sections: documents and bibliographies. When I say documents, I'm not talking about just articles. There are books here. There are periodicals. There are manuscripts. There's an entire separate page devoted to documents about lace.

These documents are in PDF format and some of them, being books and periodicals and all, are rather large, so sample pages are available for download. A nice idea which I wish I saw more often. If you don't have a high-speed connection, you can order CD-ROMs of some of the archive documents. More information about that is available at http://www.cs.arizona.edu/patterns/weaving/cdrom.html .

The bibliographies page has HTML and PDF bibliographies available, as well as some topical bibliographies. "Weaving Books and Monographs" is available as an HTML file, a PDF file, a FileMaker Pro database, and a tab-delimited file. Topical bibliographies include "Fabric and Textile Analysis Bibliography" and "An Annotated Bibliography for Tablet Woven Brocades."

I don't know nearly enough about weaving to do this site justice, but if you know more than I do, go visit now.
