The Search Engine Ultimate Interface

FaganFinder's got its Search Engine Ultimate Interface in beta, finally. You can check it out at http://www.faganfinder.com/engines.html but you'll have to use IE, I think -- I couldn't get it to work in Opera 6.x (maybe Mozilla?)

Anyway, the ultimate interface provides advanced-interface type input for several different search engines, including Google (of course), Gigablast, AltaVista, and Openfind. Nor is the interface just a retread of the search engine's advanced interface. Google's interface, for example, has more file type options and more extensive date search options.

A toggle lets you turn on and off some brief but useful help information, and you've got the option to view search results in an existing or a new window. If you want to experiment with some different search engines but want a little help while you do so, this is an excellent learning tool.
