Buffalo Transportation Museum Digital Library Features Auto Information

The Buffalo Transportation Museum Digital Library is now available at http://shrpt.pn.buffalo.edu/btmdl4/and contains a variety of information about early automobiles, including the Pierce-Arrow. (Note the URL above is temporary -- eventually the site will move to http://www.pierce-arrow.com/.)

There are two sets of information here that you might find interesting. The first is a collection of Pierce-Arrow newsletters that start in 1919 and go until 1921. In addition to information about Pierce-Arrow itself ("King Albert and Queen Elizabeth of Belgium Are Guests of the Pierce-Arrow Company") there's also intercompany news and self-improvement tips and bits in that early-20th-century Napoleon Hill style. The documents are in PDF format.

The second set of information is a collection of photographs cataloging Pierce-Arrow and other early car memorabilia. There appear to be just over 75 items in the collection at this point. They're searchable by keyword or browsable in groups of 25. Information on the browsing page includes file name, object name, creator, primary subject, secondary subject (if any) and creation date. Click on the file name for the picture and additional information. I was very sorry that the pictures were not larger.

Some of the items included in this collection were the "Lad's Car" (juvenile gas-powered car from 1913!), several hood ornaments, and a variety of promotional items.
