June 02, 2003Anime Site Directory Has Over 16,000 LinksI'm ashamed to admit that at one point in my life I knew all the words to the "Starblazers" theme. I assure you I've forgotten most of them (except for the really loud, hearty "ouurrrr... Starrrrr....BLAZERS!" at the end.) So when I found the Animenation.net links page ( http://animenation.net/links/pages/) I got all nostalgic. Categories include commercial pages (actually the smallest category), Fandom, Multimedia, and Series. There are plenty of subcategories as well. Annotation is for the most part very good, and some of the links are hysterical -- the "Laws of Anime" page is great ("Huge galaxy-wide armadas, entire armies, and large war machines full of cruel, heartless, bloodthirsty warriors can be stopped and defeated with a single insignificant example of a caring/loving emotion or a song.") In addition to the link directory, this site also offers a newsletter, what's new and what's cool, random links, and a basic advanced search. One more thing. I'm aware that there's anime out there that ... um ... well, let's just say you'd never see it on Saturday mornings on CBS. I did a lot of wandering around in this site and didn't bump into it. You may want to browse with care, however. Posted to Entertainment
