dWoz is not DMOZ

All right, if it's not DMOZ, what is it? It's dWoz ( http://www.dwoz.com/), and it's a searchable subject index designed for Webmasters with over 1500 sites. Unlike many searchable subject indexes on the 'Net it is a closed list, with sites being added only by Mr. Woz himself.

(By the way, Woz does not refer to Woz Prime -- that is, Steve Wozniak -- but to Woz the Glossarist, the man behind http://www.glossarist.com. Apparently he also has time to keep up searchable subject indexes.)

The site as it's set up looks a lot like DMOZ, but the categories are much more limited. They include Business Issues, Research & Education, and Website Construction. Beside every category name there's a number listing that looks like this: (8/13). The first number stands for the number of listings there are in that category (not including the subcategories.) The second number stands for the number of subcategories that listing has.

Annotations tend to be brief but the site is well-spaced and easy to read. There are a few unexpected categories here, such as the "Health Issues" category (and the very small "Goofin' Off" subcategory.) If you're a Webmaster you might pick up some new resources.
