June 25, 2003Google Launches Beta 2.0 ToolbarGoogle's toolbar is going to beta 2.0, as you can see from the beta-index of their toolbar site at http://toolbar.google.com/index-beta.php. If you're using at least Windows and Internet Explorer 5.0 (or, in one feature's case, IE 5.5) you can try the new toolbar. New features include a pop-up blocker (this requires IE 5.5) and form autofill. There's also a a feature related to Google's acquisition of Blogger; a "Blog This" button that allows you to create a Blogger post pointing to the page you're visiting. Note that this new toolbar is beta; no support is offered for it; don't download and install this software if you're nervous about betas. Oh, here's another neat Google tool; an AdSense previewer at http://google.blogspace.com/archives/000984. Enter the URL of a site and the tool will return what kind of Google AdWord ads that site would run. Ugh; all the potential ads for ResearchBuzz are about PPC (Pay-Per-Click) listing management. (Not that there's anything wrong with PPC; it's just not something that ResearchBuzz covers!) Posted to Search Engines-Google
