August 06, 2003Directory of WebringsAre you familiar with Webrings? They're a way to browse a series of related Web sites via a "ring" (or circle or train or whatever) icon, usually at the bottom of a site. There's a directory available at http://ringdir.ringlink.org/ which contains links to over 200 Webrings. The subject index contains categories including science, entertainment, and food and beverages. The annotations I saw were quite good, and all entries included the date of addition, host URL, and status (open to new additions or not). What is Ringlink.org? It's the home of a free CGI program for running Webrings. Other resources at this site (besides the program itself, of course) include a list of Webring-related resources and a mailing list.
