Historical Photographs of Vancouver

Special Collections at the Vancouver Public Library has added 1500 new images to their Historical Photographs Database at http://collections.ic.gc.ca/vancouver/index.html . These new photographs depict life in Vancouver between 1900- 1910, though I saw photographs in my search of the collection as recent at 1940.

Photographs are searchable by general keyword, subject, geographic location, photographer, year or year span, and format (copy negative, glass negative, lantern slide, etc.) A search for "sawmill" found 132 records. Search results listed a thumbnail of the image, the title of the image, date, photographer/studio, content notes, format, and a list of similar subject links. Click on the title of the photograph and you'll get a larger version.
