September 29, 2003LOC Announces Wilbur and Orville Wright PapersThe Library of Congress announced last week the resource of the Wilbur and Orville Wright Papers at http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wrighthtml/ . This collection contains over 10,000 items related to the Wright brothers and includes correspondence, diaries, notebooks, drawings, and a collection of glass-plate photographic negatives. The collection can be searched by keyword or browsed by collection. There are seven collections from "Diaries and Notebooks, 1900-19, undated" to "Glass negatives from the Papers of Wilbur and Orville Wright". A keyword search for "Kitty Hawk" found 106 results including a picture of the kitchen of the Kitty Hawk camp, a picture of the 1901 glider being flown as a kite, and for some reason a picture of a sand crab from 1901.
