Open the Door For Your Golden Gate Mystery Date

How many mystery, detective, and crime fiction titles are either actually set in San Francisco and the Bay area, or have significant portions occur in the SF and Bay area? Randal Brandt has found over 950 and he's put them into an online bibliography at
http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/~rbrandt/sfmystery/.

The front page gives you some background information on where these titles were gathered from. On the bottom of the page you'll find alphabetical links to the bibliography and its contents. Books are listed by author; author name and then each of their books, publisher, and year of publication. I found books listed as old as 1857 ("The startling and thrilling narrative of the dark and terrible deeds of Henry Madison, and his associate and accomplice, Miss Ella Stevens...") and as recent as 2003.

Unfortunately the listings contain no detail or synopsis information, so you'll just have to wonder about "The shocking pink hat" and "Fully dressed and in his right mind". In addition to the alphabetical listings there are also sections for new additions and for historical murder mysteries.
