September 08, 2003State of Kentucky Adds Online Oral History IndexThe state of Kentucky has added an index of its oral history holdings. It's available at http://205.204.246.206/oh/browse.aspx . The front page lists a variety of places with holdings, from Alice Lloyd College, McGaw Library to Western Kentucky University, University Archives, Helm-Cravens Library . You have four options for reviewing these materials. You can search them by keyword. You can browse them by subject (from Academic health centers to Zanzibar). You can browse them by interviewee name. Or you can browse them by repository. Click on a repository name. You'll get a variety of information about the repository, including phone number, number of interviews, hours of access, contact name, accessibility of materials, Web site, and e-mail address, if available. Beneath the repository information you'll see a list of available collections. Click on a collection name and the information you get will include the number of audio interviews in the collection, a (thorough) description of the collection, both the interviewers and the interviewees, the time period covered by the interviews, the dates the interviews were actually taken, and the subject which are covered by the interviews.
