Dictionary of Canadian Biography Online

The English version of the Dictionary of Canadian Biography online is available at http://www.biographi.ca/EN/index.html . I'm not providing the main URL because it's a) pretty much all Flash and b) you have to click in the EXACT right spot to skip the intro, so I thought I'd save you the hassle.

What is this site? This is the first phase of the Dictionary of Canadian Biography, and "This first phase presents persons who died between the years 1000 and 1920 or whose last known date of activity falls within these years."

Searching is available on the right. Here you can search by keyword or browse by first letter of last name. You can search for do an advanced search (Flash or HTML flavor) that allows you to search by date range of death, gender, geography, and category.

A search for Dion found 20 results. Result listings include a name and date range of death. Click on the name and you'll get an extensive biography of the person as well as a bibliography of information related to them.
