Maine Memory Network Launches New Browser Feature

The Maine Memory Network ( http://www.mainememory.net ) has launched a browse-by-topic search feature at http://www.mainememory.net/home.shtml .

The browse-by-topic index is set up like a searchable subject index with categories from Arts & Entertainment to Transportation. Plenty of subcategories are available. Pick a category and you'll get a series of keywords, while if you choose a subcategory you'll get a series of items related to that category. For example if you pick Maritime you'll see several related keywords.

I picked Shipwrecks. I got 24 pictures with thumbnails and a brief description. When I clicked on a thumbnail, I got additional information including full information and a larger picture. Couple of nice features: a feedback form on the page for the item and the ability to send the image as a digital postcard. Nice.
