November 11, 2003Australian Search EngineIt's actually the Australian and New Zealand search engine, but WebSearch ( http://websearch.com.au/ ) starts you off searching for Australian search engines, so we'll start there (a link at the bottom of the page lets you switch your searching to New Zealand.) This search engine indexes over six million pages. The front page is a simple search box. A search for "wallaby" found 567 results, including a "featured" result. Is featured sponsored or what? Please, if they're Sponsored call 'em Sponsored. Anyway, the site results include url, description, page size, page URL, and a cache link. Caches are not dated. There's no help on how to use this site, but it seems to respond pretty quickly. I'd like a little more information on a) how to use the site and b) how sites are chosen to be included in the index.
