Click straight to the Southern California Heritage Gardening Guide for a guide to over 1000 plants ideal for the California climate. You can search for plants by type (trees, vines, grasses, etc.), sun exposure, color, soil type, etc. You can also browse a garden gallery and get some water saving tips. It doesn't look like the site is quite finished, but there's still plenty to see here.
